Q: What was the original name of the New York Yankees?

Guy Sports Quiz
The New York Yankees may be the most famous sports franchise in history, what with all their championship banners and Hall of Fame players. But they weren't always known as the Yankees.

Q: What was the original name of the New York Yankees?

A: From 1903 to 1913, the team was known as the New York Highlanders because their park, at 168th Street and Broadway, was one of the highest spots in Manhattan. The field was known as Hilltop Park.

Bonus points: If you said the original name of the team was the Baltimore Orioles. In 1903 Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the defunct Baltimore Orioles franchise of the American League (for a mere $18,000) and moved the team to New York.
