Olympic See Through Swimsuits

No wisecracks!

Olympic Seamstresses Race To Fix See-Through Swimsuits

ATHENS, Greece * A British seamstress has secured the dignity of the country's Olympic women's triathlon squad by adding "modesty panels" to their swimsuits.

The see-through dilemma only came to light Wednesday, two days before the Olympic Games began in Athens, The Sun reported Thursday.

"The fronts are made of skin-tight white Lycra and you can see everything if you get water on them," said seamstress Christine Spencer.

She raced through inserting extra Lycra panels on all 16 swimsuits, then had a team official put them all through a shower test to ensure there could be no titillating glimpses.

The inserts had the desired effect and were drying in Athens Thursday, the newspaper said.
